in need of some non-judgmental life advice
any takers?
In 5 1/2 hours I will be DONE with my first year...
And I cannot. Wait.
A privilege
As a classmate put it so well, today it feels like a privilege to take my Constitutional Law exam. Feeling a huge mix of emotions, but very thankful for our security forces, our President, and hopeful that this can continue to bring us together instead of setting us apart again.

Plus/Minus
Minus:
Thanks for the shattered Cobra bottle in the driveway, obnoxious undergrads. Glad to see that the warmer temperatures mean a return to generally disrespectful outdoor behavior. Also glad that I didn’t just cut the shit out of my hands picking up after you so I don’t get a flat tire.
Plus:
IT’S WARM OUT. NOTHING CAN BE BAD WHEN IT IS WARM AND SUNNY IN FEBRUARY.

Cannot. Stop. Watching. Battlestar Galactica.
Ahhhhhhhhhh everything is getting crazy and I have abandoned real life (grocery store, cooking, doing work, exercise) for Season 2.5.
I don’t even care that this is so nerdy… it is SO. GOOD.

I am home alone outlining the Restatement of Contracts.
This is boring, slow going, and my brain is tired.

When the going gets tough
The tough put on a cute new dress, down some Earl Gray, and go for it.
Trapped in the library
But the day hasn’t been a total wash. I went to Chipotle for lunch to keep me going allllll afternoon while I work on a memo, and was sucked into the “50% off sale” at the Urban Outfitters next door. Good news/bad news? I got 2 sweaters, a dress and a tank top for less than $50! Hooray!!!
Picked up this sweater and this dress… each one was ten bucks. Ridiculous!
And...
My alma mater representing on Glee!!!
Ohmygosh I am so excited and my inner a cappella nerd is busting out. The Beelzebubs from Tufts are providing the arrangements and vocals for the new all-boys group on Glee starting tomorrow…. I can’t wait to watch this :)

Not too bad
On the docket for tomorrow:
First law school exam and then I will DRESS UP LIKE A ZEBRA.
I am pretty psyched.

I read a whole bunch of blogs on this tumblr thing. The people who write them are real, loving, funny, stylish, and a million other things.
Sometimes I have a hard time remembering that you are REAL people. Sometimes I think of your blogs as ongoing novels, the people behind them fictional characters. I doubt I am the only one who feels this way.
It breaks my heart to think of the very real...
Also.
I brought my lunch today to be healthy and avoid free but gross pizza.
When I reached into the fridge for my tupperware of quinoa/tofu/edamame salad (very tasty… but let’s be real, not satisfying), I saw the six-pack of Simpler Times staring back at me
And for longer than a reasonable moment, I considered tucking one into my lunch bag, in case the going got really tough before legal...
Uh oh. The kitchen sink.
Is burbling. Again. Water rising up. Problems. Roommate and I suspect garbage-disposal foul play on the part of our extremely foreign upstairs neighbors. [Last night when the sink did this at 11:30pm, I talked to the maintenance guy and on his advice, spoke to upstairs neighbor - his response: “I no break sink. There no problem with sink. It fine.”]
Dude. I am not blaming you. But it...
playoff baseball
there is NOTHING like playoff baseball. i was fortunate enough to be at the red sox - rays game 5 ALCS at fenway in 2008, when we were about to get knocked out by the rays but scored 7 runs in the 7th inning and came back to win the game! the rest of the series didn’t go so well, but that game was magic.
the moment when the red sox finally - FINALLY - beat the yankees in the 2004 ALCS was...
Happiness
Is sitting at the dining room table just going about your business in the company of the person you love the most. And who you haven’t seen in 7 weeks.
Picking up right where I left off, and can’t wipe the smile off my face.

My blog title is now a lie
Since I am no longer in the 617. I am now reporting live from Michigan! So far, things have been good/weird/overwhelming/positive/scary/everything that you feel when you move.
I know two people here. I know approximately half of the people in Massachusetts… so this is a BIG CHANGE.
So… until I get my bearings… until I have more to say and photos to post…

An excellent antidote for life-overwhelmedness
Oh hello blog. I have totally neglected you while attempting to figure out the next 3+ years of my life. Law school? Yes. Moving halfway across the country when I’ve never seriously lived outside of Greater Boston? Yes. Seeing 14 apartments in less than 24 hours and signing a lease in Michigan? Also yes. Busiest time of the year at work ever? Oh yeah, also yes.
My life hasn’t changed...

Today is hard
I am very much struggling to keep it together.
It's not perfect, but nothing ever is
Health care! Whoa! Yes! Taking steps forward instead of doing nothing!! Hurrah!!!
(Also - I had an incredibly great weekend - it was SO beautiful out, I spent time with some of my all-time favorite people, it was relaxed, it was spring. March, I thought you were supposed to suck? But you have been amazing, actually).
